Cobalto

Type design

Collab w/ Lidia Matarazzo

The font design process began with the "Olivetti Design Contest 20-21." After the conclusion of the contest, it became a personal project supervised by Antonio Pace, a professor at RUFA. The font is based on "Candia," a character designed by Josef Müller-Brockmann for one of Olivetti's typewriters in 1970.

The project's goal was to represent Olivetti's digital transition while considering its roots. Redesigning one of the characters used for the typewriters symbolizes the past that continues to live in modern-day Olivetti.
